HS2 engineers walk down Harvil Road past a Stop HS2 banner during a protest by environmental activists from Save the Colne Valley, Stop HS2 and Extinction Rebellion against tree felling works for the high-speed rail project. The activists were successful in preventing any of the scheduled tree felling by HS2 and after an intervention by a police officer all tree felling and strimming work has now been cancelled for the weekend.

Climbers from the National Eviction Team (NET) are currently dismantling a camp built by activists, five of whom still occupying tunnels beneath the camp, in order to seek to protect trees from felling by HS2 Ltd in connection with the controversial HS2 high-speed rail project.
