Viva! is campaigning to raise awareness of the number of deaths of horses as a result of horse racing. According to Animal Aid, there have been 2,457 horse racing deaths since 13th March 2007, 42 of which at Ascot including Star Safari following fetlock injuries on Day 1 of Royal Ascot 2022.
