Add to Lightbox DownloadSteeple Claydon, UK. 24 February, 2021. Long reach tree felling vehicles are used by HS2 Ltd to fell a section of ancient woodland known as Poors Piece during the eviction of activists opposed to the HS2 high-speed rail link. The activists created the Poors Piece Conservation Project there in spring 2020 after having been invited to stay on the land by its owner, farmer Clive Higgins. Already, local village communities have been hugely impacted by HS2, with 550 acres of land seized including a large section of a nature reserve.
