An ancient poplar tree in Denham Country Park threatened with imminent destruction by the HS2 high-speed rail link is decorated with the figures of tree spirits by environmental activists. Planned works in the immediate area are believed to include the felling of 200 trees and the construction of a roadway, Bailey bridge, compounds, fencing and a parking area.
