Extinction Rebellion Operation Big Bird protest, London, UK

London, UK. 6 December, 2019. Climate change activists from Extinction Rebellion bring a 4-metre tall ostrich to an ‘Operation Big Bird’ dance party outside the Conservative party headquarters as part of a series of ‘Election Rebellion’ protests intended to apply pressure on political parties to place the climate and ecological emergency at the centre of their general election campaigning. A screen brought to the site by activist group Led By Donkeys relays Andrew Neil’s challenge to Boris Johnson to attend for an interview in the background.
