Wendover, UK. 4th May, 2021. Environmental activist Mark Keir monitors tree surgeons working on behalf of HS2 Ltd to clear ancient woodland at Jones Hill Wood in the Chilterns AONB for the HS2 high-speed rail link. Felling of the woodland, which contains resting places and/or breeding sites for pipistrelle, barbastelle, noctule, brown long-eared and natterer’s bats and is said to have inspired Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox, recommenced after a High Court judge refused an application for judicial review and lifted an injunction.
