London, UK. 10th September, 2024. Jo Bateman (c, holding box) and campaigners from Good Law Project prepare to present a petition at 10 Downing Street. The petition calls on the government to impose stricter penalties for water company offences and to prioritise urgent action for a cleaner and safer swimming environment. Jo Bateman is taking legal action against South West Water in relation to untreated sewage being transported to a pumping station near Exmouth where sewage had already been spilling into the sea.
