London, UK. 29 October, 2019. Petros Elia, co-founder of the United Voices of the World (UVW) trade union, indicates the office of the Chief Executive of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Professor Tim Orchard at St Mary's Hospital Paddington. UVW represents around 200 migrant cleaners, porters and caterers outsourced via Sodexo, one of the world’s largest multinational corporations, who are striking for equal pay, conditions and treatment with broadly equivalent NHS colleagues who are paid £6,000-10,000 p.a. more and have scheduled 12 days of strike action.
