Protest at Mines and Money awards ceremony, London, UK

London, UK. 26 November, 2019. Activists from Global Justice Rebellion and London Mining Network protest outside the Mines and Money awards ceremony at the Honorary Artillery Company as mining company delegates, investors and government representatives arrive. The activists were protesting to highlight the environmental impact of mining and also the manner in which mining companies are increasingly attempting to ‘greenwash’ their activities by claiming that they are indispensable in a transition to sustainables.
