Stop HS2 March For Water Colne Valley
Add to Lightbox DownloadSecurity guards monitor Stop HS2 campaigners taking part in a March For Water protest walk from Hillingdon Civic Centre to Harefield Moor to highlight the risk of contamination to the public drinking water supply from drilling into the chalk aquifer in the Colne Valley for the HS2 high-speed rail link on 5th February 2022 in Harefield, United Kingdom. A viaduct requiring 292 piles driven into the aquifer, a natural water filtration system, is currently being constructed to carry HS2 across lakes and watercourses in the Colne Valley Regional Park and campaigners have called on Hillingdon Council to take action to protect the local environment.
