Add to Lightbox DownloadSteeple Claydon, UK. 24 February, 2021. An anti-HS2 banner is pictured in ancient woodland known as Poors Piece during an operation by Thames Valley Police to remove activists opposed to the HS2 high-speed rail link on behalf of HS2 Ltd. The activists created the Poors Piece Conservation Project there in spring 2020 after having been invited to stay on the land by its owner, farmer Clive Higgins. Already, local village communities have been hugely impacted by HS2, with 550 acres of land seized including a large section of a nature reserve.
