Environmental activists foil HS2 work in Denham Country Park, Denham, UK

Police liaison officers monitor environmental activists from Extinction Rebellion, Save Colne Valley and Stop HS2 occupying a bridge in Denham Country Park to seek to prevent works for the HS2 high-speed rail link including the felling of 200 trees and the construction of a Bailey bridge, compounds, fencing and a parking area. Part of the location for the work lies within a wetland nature reserve forming part of a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation (SMI). In spite of a substantial police presence, HS2 were not able to proceed with the work for the day.
