HS2 Chiltern Tunnel South Portal Works West Hyde

West Hyde, UK. 31st January, 2022. A viaduct precast factory at the South Portal site for the Chiltern Tunnel section of the HS2 high-speed rail link is pictured from across a field. Two 2,000-tonne tunnel boring machines are being used to create the 10-mile Chiltern Tunnel beneath the Chiltern Hills which will be the longest tunnel on the HS2 route between London and the West Midlands.
