London, UK. 29 October, 2019. Outsourced workers belonging to the United Voices of the World (UVW) trade union stand on the picket line outside their workplace at St Mary's Hospital Paddington. Outsourced via Sodexo, one of the world’s largest multinational corporations, around 200 migrant cleaners, porters and caterers are striking for equal pay, conditions and treatment with broadly equivalent NHS colleagues who are paid £6,000-10,000 p.a. more and have scheduled 12 days of strike action.
