Extinction Rebellion, Stop HS2 and Save the Colne Valley had reoccupied the camp two days before as part of an ongoing attempt to protect ancient woodland threatened by the HS2 high-speed rail link after a small group of Stop HS2 activists had been evicted by bailiffs over the course of the previous two weeks. 108 ancient woodlands are set to be destroyed by the high-speed rail link.
