A woman who lives close to the proposed route of the HS2 high-speed rail link observes HS2 engineers erecting Heras fencing to surround three environmental activists from Extinction Rebellion who have climbed a veteran oak tree close to the Harvil Road wildlife protection camp in order to try to protect it from felling. HS2 are expected to try to fell large numbers of mature trees in the immediate vicinity over the weekend even though the high-speed rail link is still awaiting Boris Johnson’s approval.
