2022, with just 70 events shot as compared to 499 in 2019, was a third successive year of much reduced documentary photography activity for me due to medical issues, but I really enjoyed working more regularly again in the latter part of the year and am hoping for better in 2023.
Heartfelt thanks to all who continued to do their utmost to keep us safe and well during 2022 in spite of scant resources and broken promises, not least those working in the NHS.
Thanks so much also to all those who I was privileged to picture during 2022, in particular the many brave and committed activists who continue to make huge sacrifices to push for urgently needed change at a time when the UK government is imprisoning campaigners for highlighting government failings whilst introducing draconian legislation to prevent them from protesting again rather than taking action to honour its manifesto and treaty commitments and to protect basic human rights and our precious environment both in the UK and around the world.
