London, UK. 26th November, 2024. Demolition works for the 26-storey reinforced concrete Maydew House on the Abbeyfield Estate in Bermondsey. Southwark Council announced on 12th November that demolition works on the 1960s residential tower block had begun following its earlier scrapping of a retrofit scheme. The tower block has been empty since 2015.
