The six-acre Archers Wood beaver enclosure, a joint venture beaver release project involving Capel Manor College and Enfield Council, is aimed at promoting biodiversity and contributing to flood alleviation. Two beavers were introduced in 2022, for the first time in over 400 years in London, and it is believed that seven beavers now inhabit the enclosure.
