Windsor, UK. 1st September, 2024. Extinction Rebellion UK climate activists march to Windsor Castle to take part in a series of protest activities outside on Castle Hill with the theme Another World Is Possible on the final day of three days of Upgrade Democracy protests. The day's protest activities involved speeches, mock draconian sentencing of climate activists, climate jenga and a die-in after which giant puppet Gaia carried out a blessing. The activists then marched back to their campsite in Home Park in order to pack up before departing. Extinction Rebellion's Upgrade Democracy campaign is intended to highlight the manner in which profits are safeguarded for oil and gas companies in the UK and to call on the UK government to create and be led by a Citizens’ Assembly on Climate and Ecological Justice.
