Extinction Rebellion climate activists stage a protest on the Long Walk around a theme of 'The System Is Broken' on the first of three days of Upgrade Democracy protest activities at sites around Windsor Castle. The Oil Slicks perform and speakers include Extinction Rebellion UK spokesperson and London 2012 canoe slalom gold medallist Etienne Stott. Extinction Rebellion's Upgrade Democracy campaign is intended to highlight the manner in which profits are safeguarded for oil and gas companies - the theme 'The System Is Broken' illustrates the influence of what activists term 'oily money' on world affairs - and to call on the UK government to create and to be led by a Citizens’ Assembly on Climate and Ecological Justice.
