London, UK. 7th November, 2023. Families from Parents For Palestine protest outside Portcullis House to call on Parliament to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza on the occasion of the State Opening of Parliament. Parents, who displayed baby grows and photographs of children who have been killed by Israeli airstrikes on Gaza outside Portcullis House, protested in solidarity with Palestinian families in Gaza. Over 4,100 Palestinian children have been killed in Gaza in the last month according to Gaza's Health Ministry (both the UN and the Red Cross consider statistics supplied by Gaza's Health Ministry to be reliable despite the most difficult of conditions). Children born since Israel's airstrikes began are the most vulnerable. The UN has warned that at least 130 premature babies currently in incubators are at risk due to power cuts as Gaza runs out of fuel. There are an estimated 50,000 pregnant women in Gaza and some are having to give birth in shelters or in the streets among the rubble due to the forced closure of 14 hospitals and 45 clinics.
