Shalamar - Jeffrey Daniel, Howard Hewett and Carolyn Griffey - perform with a seven-piece band at Camden Music Festival to celebrate their induction, earlier the same day, at the Music Walk of Fame. The Music Walk of Fame celebrates music's contribution to culture, society and the lives of people from all around the world. US R&B, soul and funk band Shalamar sold over 25 million records worldwide in the early 1980s and are credited with having introduced street dance to the UK in the form of body-popping and the backslide. Michael Jackson's moonwalk derived from dance lessons he requested from Jeffrey Daniel after seeing him perform the backslide with Shalamar on US TV.
