London, UK. 1st July, 2023. Members of the Independent Workers’ union of Great Britain (IWGB) protest against proposed redundancies and pay cuts for security guards during an Open Day at University College London (UCL). UCL security guards outsourced to subcontractor Bidvest Noonan have been informed of plans for 40 redundancies and for remaining workers to be required to reapply for jobs (fire-and-rehire) on contracts offering drastically reduced hours.
