London, UK. 13th March, 2023. Stop HS2 activists assemble in Parliament Square to highlight the risk of damage to the Colne Valley aquifer from the HS2 high-speed rail project. The chalk aquifer in the Colne Valley acts as a natural water filtration system. HS2 Ltd states that it is working with Affinity Water and the Environment Agency in order to manage risks associated with the aquifer.
