London, UK. 8th March, 2023. Activists hold signs highlighting alleged ill-treatment of female students in Iran during a protest in Trafalgar Square held on International Women's Day. Protests in Iran began in mid-September 2022 after the death in police custody of Mahsa Amini, 22, from Kurdistan, who had been detained by the morality police during a visit to Tehran for an alleged breach of strict dress code rules for women.
