London, UK. 26th January, 2023. People attend a vigil to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the Bloody Sunday massacre held in Parliament Square. 13 people were shot dead and at least 15 others injured on 30 January 1972 when members of the British Army's Parachute Regiment opened fire on civilians at a civil rights protest in the Bogside. Speakers at the vigil, who included Jean Hegarty, the sister of Bloody Sunday victim Kevin McElhinney, John Finucane MP, John McDonnell MP and Grace Cowan of Stop The War Coalition, called for the scrapping of the government's much criticised Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Bill which, if enacted, would deny justice to the victims and their families.
