London, UK. 15th December, 2022. Royal College of Nursing nurses hold placards and signs at official pickets outside St Thomas', Guy's, St Mary's and Great Ormond Street hospitals. Nurses in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are taking part in the first of two 12-hour strikes over pay and working conditions, the first such mass walkout of nurses in over a century. They were joined outside St Thomas' hospital by firefighters and officials, including General Secretary Matt Wrack, from the Fire Brigades Union (FBU).
