London, UK. 11th July, 2022. Climate activists from Extinction Rebellion dressed as canaries stage a Stop Coal die-in outside the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The activists are calling for no licences or planning consents to be granted anywhere in the UK for coal extraction by the Coal Authority, an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by BEIS.
