London, UK. 1st July, 2022. Gay Liberation Front (GLF) veterans including Peter Tatchell mark the 50th anniversary of the first UK Pride march in 1972 by retracing their steps from Charing Cross to Hyde Park. The commemorative march is intended to recapture the roots of Pride as a protest as well as a celebration of LGBT+ rights, contrasting with the depoliticisation and commercialisation of Pride in London, and to call for LGBT+ liberation both in the UK and around the world.
