2021-11-10 Ty tribute murals in Brixton

London, UK. 10th November, 2021. Images of three murals in Brixton paying tribute to hip hop artist Ty, two by Create Not Destroy and one by Carleen de Sözer (see individual captions for more details). Ty, an influential Mercury-Prize nominated rapper who released five albums and collaborated or performed with artists including Tony Allen, De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Pee Wee Ellis, Arrested Development, Platinum Pied Pipers, Estelle, Roots Manuva, Soweto Kinch and Damon Albarn, was much loved in the local Brixton community to which he made such an important contribution. He died in May 2020 following complications related to COVID-19.
