2021-08-27 Extinction Rebellion Blood Money March

London, UK. 27th August, 2021. Environmental activists from Extinction Rebellion take part in a Blood Money March around the City of London with the intention of highlighting financial institutions linked by them to the funding of fossil fuel projects, especially in the Global South, as well as law firms and bodies which facilitate them, whilst calling on the UK government to cease all new fossil fuel investment with immediate effect. The march paused outside Standard Chartered bank, the Guildhall, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, Maples Group and in Paternoster Square. Blood-red paint was spread on the the facade of Standard Chartered bank and the north wing of the Guildhall and blood-red dye was spread in front of the offices of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and across Paternoster Square; two activists also glued onto a 'plaque of shame' outside the offices of Maples Group.
