Chesham, UK. 18th June, 2021. The Liberal Democrats win the Chesham and Amersham by-election by 8,028 votes from the Conservatives, with their candidate Sarah Green overturning a 16,000 majority in a seat which had always previously returned a Conservative MP. The Green Party candidate, Carolyne Culver, finished third. The by-election had been triggered by the death of Dame Cheryl Gillan, who had been the constituency’s MP for 29 years.
