London, UK. 22nd May, 2021. An estimated 180,000 people take part in the National Demonstration for Palestine, organised by pro-Palestinian solidarity groups in protest against Israel's recent attacks on Gaza, which killed more than 230 people including many children, its continuing incursions at the Al-Aqsa mosque, its attempts to forcibly displace Palestinian families from areas such as the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of East Jerusalem and its systemic discrimination against Palestinians.
The march began at Victoria Embankment and finished at Hyde Park, where speakers called for an end to UK arms sales to Israel and expressed support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Many of these images show the International Bloc on the demonstration, formed of activists wishing to show solidarity with the cause of the Palestinians whilst highlighting current human rights abuses taking place in Colombia and Tigray as well as Palestine and Israel.
