17 images Created 10 May 2021
Wendover, UK. 9th May, 2021. Activists and local residents opposed to HS2 attend an event in Jones Hill Wood in tribute to ancient woodland being felled there for the high-speed rail link. The event featured a reading of an adaptation of Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox, which he is said to have been inspired to write by Jones Hill Wood, as well as poems, speeches, a film screening and face painting.
This gallery also contains images contrasting the section of ancient woodland at Jones Hill Wood which will remain with that currently being felled, one full of life as the trees and undergrowth burst into leaf and flower whilst the other bears witness day after day to the ever increasing destruction being wrought for HS2.
