British Gas engineers and staff belonging to the GMB trade union began another in a series of ‘Stop The British Gas Fire’ strikes last week after overwhelmingly rejecting an offer by Centrica intended to resolve a dispute regarding rehiring on inferior terms and conditions. Centrica reported an operating profit of £901 million in 2019.
