2020-09-03 Animal Rebellion blockade DHSC

15 images Created 5 Sep 2020

London, UK. 3rd September, 2020. Animal rights activists from Animal Rebellion lock themselves to a pink slaughterhouse 'Truck of Truth' bearing the words 'Animal Farming = Pandemics & Cimate Crisis', two on top and six inside, in order to block the road outside the Department of Health and Social Care for over five hours. The Animal Rebellion activists, who were all arrested in an operation involving the Metropolitan Police and British Transport Police, were protesting in solidarity with victims of the global food system and to demand that the UK transitions to a sustainable plant-based food system. An ecologist was also arrested whilst making a speech from the side of the road about zoonotic diseases.
