Chilterns, UK. 17th-18th July, 2020. Preparatory work continues for the HS2 high-speed rail link. Documented are haul roads in Great Missenden and Chalfont St Giles, ventilation shafts for the Chiltern Tunnel in Chalfont St Giles and Chalfont St Peter and a water pipeline to prevent turbidity in the water supply from tunnelling and piledriving in Chalfont St Giles. The Department for Transport approved the issuing of Notices to Proceed by HS2 Ltd to the four Main Works Civils Contractors (MWCC) working on the £106bn rail project in April 2020.
