Denham, UK. 26th June, 2020. Activists from HS2 Rebellion and Extinction Rebellion UK take part in a ‘Rebel Trail’ hike along, or close to, the intended route of the HS2 high-speed rail link. The activists, who departed from Birmingham on 20th June and will arrive outside Parliament in London on 27th June, are protesting against the environmental impact of the high-speed rail link and questioning the viability of the £100bn+ project. This set of images was shot between Denham Country Park, where some pylons are being rerouted through woodland and wetland in conjunction with the HS2 project, and Harvil Road in Harefield, close to which thousands of trees have already been felled for the project. Activists from Save the Colne Valley, Stop HS2, HS2 Rebellion and Extinction Rebellion continue to resist the ongoing destruction of precious habitats.
