Harefield, UK. 7 February, 2020. HS2 engineers erect Heras-style fencing to surround three environmental activists from Extinction Rebellion who have climbed a veteran oak tree close to the Harvil Road wildlife protection camp in the Colne Valley in order to try to protect it from felling as part of planned works for the high-speed rail link. HS2 are expected to try to fell large numbers of mature trees in the immediate vicinity from 8th-9th February even though the high-speed rail link is still awaiting Boris Johnson’s approval.
