Harefield, UK. 18 January, 2020. Activists from Extinction Rebellion, Stop HS2 and Save the Colne Valley reoccupy Stop HS2’s Colne Valley wildlife protection camp during a three-day Stand for the Trees/Stop HS2 event timed to coincide with tree felling work in the Colne Valley believed to have been scheduled by HS2. Enforcement agents acting on behalf of HS2 had evicted all but two activists from the camp over the past week and a half. 108 ancient woodlands are set to be destroyed by the high-speed rail link.
