Outsourced workers belonging to the United Voices of the World (UVW) trade union stand on the picket line outside their workplace at St Mary's Hospital Paddington, as well as protesting outside the office of the Chief Executive of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Professor Tim Orchard nearby. Outsourced via Sodexo, one of the world’s largest multinational corporations, around 200 migrant cleaners, porters and caterers are striking for equal pay, conditions and treatment with comparable NHS colleagues who are paid £6,000-10,000 p.a. more and they have so far scheduled 12 days of strike action.
