2019-10-12 Extinction Rebellion International Rebellion Day 6

40 images Created 12 Oct 2019

London, UK. 12 October, 2019. Thousands of climate activists from Extinction Rebellion, some bearing large model skeletons, bones and coffins, take part in the XR funeral march from Marble Arch to Russell Square on the sixth day of International Rebellion protests to demand a government declaration of a climate and ecological emergency, a commitment to halting biodiversity loss and net zero carbon emissions by 2025 and for the government to create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice. A 'grief ceremony' was then held in Russell Square to remember 'thousands of ancestral indigenous bones', including those held in the nearby British Museum.
