Climate activists from Extinction Rebellion take part in a ‘Requiem For A Dead Planet: Newspapers Tell The Truth’ event outside the offices of the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Evening Standard and Independent newspapers in Kensington on the fifth day of their ‘Summer Uprising’ to call for the media to ‘tell the truth’ regarding the climate crisis, to prioritise the environment as their 'top editorial issue', to cease publishing articles by discredited climate change deniers as well as advertising and editorial which promote consumerism and a 'high-carbon lifestyle' and to declare a climate and ecological emergency. The event featured a die-in, speeches, poems, requiem music and a eulogy for lost species.
