London, UK. 19th January, 2019. Thousands of women take part in the Global Women's March from BBC Broadcasting House to Trafalgar Square to attend a Bread & Roses Rally Against Austerity organised by Women's March London. Inspired by the 1912 Bread & Roses protests which revolutionised workers’ rights for women and in the light of Brexit, the organisers called for assurances from the Government in ending policies of austerity which lead to economic oppression, violence against women, the gender pay gap, racism, fascism, institutional sexual harassment and the hostile environment experienced by marginalised groups.
