4 images Created 15 Dec 2018

London, UK. 3rd December, 2018. Campaigners from Front Line Defenders, an organisation founded in Dublin in 2001 with the aim of protecting human rights defenders at risk, tour Parliament Square on a double-decker bus to call for the release by the Bahraini authorities of Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja. Al-Khawaja, former President of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights (BCHR) and founder of the Gulf Center for Human Rights (GCHR), was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Bahrain military court on 22nd June 2011 during a campaign of repression which followed pro-democracy protests in Bahrain during the 2011 uprising.
