Wendover, UK. 10 January, 2020. A sign and notice outside the newly-established Wendover Active Resistance Camp. Stop HS2 activists from around the UK established the camp in woodland outside Wendover on the proposed route for HS2 through the Chilterns AONB in response to requests for assistance from members of the local community opposed to the high speed rail link. The impact on the immediate area is expected to be even worse than initially expected, with not only two 500m viaducts and a 1km embankment to be constructed but also a Bentonite factory and 240-bed accommodation block.
